1)What are some of the problems involved in separating a conjoined twin?
Neurosurgeon Keith Goh, who was involved in the marathon operations to separate the two earlier sets of twins joined at the head, has been asked by the state government of Andhra Pradesh in India to carry out the surgery. HoweverKhaw said that doctors would likely end up harming the patients and should not attempt such operations. Surgeons, in some instances, have to pick one twin to die to save the other. Even those who survive would often be left with brain damage. International studies have shown that the chances of surviving surgery for 40 pairs of twins joined at the head was rated 50:50 — one twin would not survive the operation. Four neurosurgeons, who declined to be named, agreed that such operations should not be done because separating such patients could leave one or both with serious brain damage.

2)If you were a part of a conjoined twin,would you rather stay together with your twin for the rest of your life or would you risk both your lives to go for an operation?Why?
I think that by the time I am able to make the decision it would be too late to make the decision. As it may either be too late to separate or the operation was not successful and the other twin died. But if I were able to make the decision, there are a few factors to consider. I think that being separated if successful would be a great thing and each could live their own lives. But then if choosing separation and it does not succeed, if i were in the situation , I may feel guilty but then I would not have known my twin well enough to feel guilty for long. Being a conjoined twin also means you have to be emotionally strong, extremely emotionally strong because the society that we live in is not very accepting and will look down on you. so if you are not emotionally strong, you may go under depression or even commit suicide. So i may be emotionally strong but I don't think I am that strong, therefore, I will choose to separate with my twin and hope for the best.

Question 1

What are big companies doing in order to be more socially responsible?

They are strategically managing businesses to bring in profits. Fast food outlets like MacDonald's are focusing on being socially responsible by introducing healthy food like sweet corn, apple dips and salads. DBS is helping the needy children. HSBC Bank is in conservation of the environment.

Question 2

How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?

I think it is very important as it will not only give Singapore a good name but also make Singapore a better place to live in. I think it is possible as money is not everything in the world. Although money is important, i don't think it should affect us being socially responsible. We should still be considerate and make the best out of each situation, and not be self centered. For instance, China. The government spent a fortune to make a name for itself during the 2008 Beijing Olympics but because of a China based company who produced milk contaminated with melamine, now when you say "China" the first thought is "Melamine". It was extremely socially irresponsible as it caused a lot of suffering to babies and some deaths. I like to think it as I am not the only only suffering from recession, the rest of the world are suffering along with me and some even worse then me, so why complain?

1)What are some of the things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to take care of the environment?
Recycling bins have been placed in the class for recycling competitions.Environmental Representatives are rostered to take down used paper, cans and bottles.

2)Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing and recycling wil make a difference in saving the environment ? What steps have you taken in the effort to save the earth?
Definatly. One person can make all the difference in saving the earth. Although saving the environment cannot be achieved by just one person or a group of people alone. We should all play our part in saving the environment. I have been trying to play a part by remembering to switch off all the lights and fans when not in use. I also give unused workbooks and unwanted textbooks to my cousins and other people in need of them.

1)How does the treatment programme of the Singapore Prison Service help sex offenders?
Singapore Prison Service committed to offering offenders the opportunity to reform, while helping them to learn the skills necessary for their re-integration.Not all sex offenders are put through this programme.Sex offender treatment can be successful in reducing the recidivisim of sex offenders if the treatment is taken when approaching the idea of treating sex offenders. General life skills that are learned by offenders who are believed to enchance treatment sucess. For example, each offender prepares a meal once a week, and is responsible for their own laundry and cleaning up after themselves. These skills can be used throughout offenders' entire lives and promote their own personal productivity.Likewise, actions carried out to sex offender treatment by way of positive role modelling for the youth.

2)Do you think that sex offenders should be given a second chance in the society? State your reasons.
I think it depends on the situation. If it was a violent act which caused the victim death directly/indirectly or caused the victim to have emotional or mental problems, he offender should not really be given a second chance. As letting them off scott free would be just plain stupid and totally unfair. They should be castrated, then they can be let off. However, considering the fact that not all sex offenders are males, females should be charged by having them be forced sterilized. If both parties are willing,then they should be just sent for counseling.

Illegal logging can be described as forestry practices or activities connected with wood harvesting, processing and trade that do not conform to law.

2)What can you do to stop the sumatran tiger from extinction?
We can start by not buying and supporting tiger based products such as Tiger Gull and Tiger Skin ex-cetera. We can also report to the authorities if we see any other illegal animal trading items. After all its not only the Tigers we have to save, but the rest of the planet as well. We can also financially support tiger conversationalists or tiger preservation groups.

Q1)What are the different forms of ketamine?

There are three main forms of Ketamine. They are Liquid,Tablet or Powder.

Q2)What would you do if you knew your friend took ketamine?

I would advice him or her to stop immediately as Drugs are murderers. Killing your health,wallet

and emotions. I would also advice my friend to go to a rehabilitation centre. Although the

time spent there would seem like a living hell, it would be for my friends own good.

Offering emotional support would be something i give to all my friends, and i would give it

even before they start or even consider taking drugs.

- The writer meant that they found more brave people than people that are cowards and run away when there's trouble.

1) Why Coral Secondary School forbids students to idle around near their school in their school uniform?

It is to emphasize on Time Management and to keep the students out of trouble.

Q2) Do you agree with this rule? Explain your answer

I totally disagree with it. The rule should be taken away as it is a utter waste of time. Although it is also partly to keep the students out of mischief, some parents have to work full time and ask their children to buy lunch from the nearby malls or shops. Does this mean that you have to go home and change then go to the mall just to buy food again? What if the student's house is far away from the school? It is a complete waste of time and time like that can be used for revision or relaxation. Therefore I think that the school should reconsider this rule and make life easier for everyone.

Q2) "Hard work leads to Success." to what extent do you agree with this statement?

I Agree with this statement quite a lot.If We work hard we can achieve our goals. But its just like the phrase "Practice Makes Perfect" i think it should be "Correct practice makes perfect" So even if we work hrad, but we do it the wrong way,it will not work. Take making a cake for an example,no matter how hard you try,you still won't be able to make a nice one even if you try really really hard.

Q1) How did the teenagers trespass into Singapore Island Country Club?

They were taking a walk when they wondered onto the golf course,there were no sogns saying they could not be there. They were also drunk.

Q2) Is underage drinking correct? Explain your answer.

I think it is ok as long as you do not get drunk and that you do not drink in public. Underage drinking under "parental supervision" is ok as it is less likely that you will get injured,but people who drink and get drunk in public usually get hurt by accidents or gang fights or being taken advantage of.
